Courses - Homestay - Activities

You may organize your own schedule, but from our experience we recommend that you study four hours per day.

The student participates and is responsible for the learning process. We have emphasized communication of the language, taking into account the development of the four skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. All of this is cultivated with exposure to Latin-American culture through various lectures, videos, and guest speakers.

As a teacher of French and ESL (English as a second language) I was looking forward upon my arrival in Quito to study Spanish in a Spanish-speaking environment. Academia de Español "Gayasamín" has provided just that opportunity.
It is centrally located on the 12 de Octubre, a few blocks from the Swisshôtel, Radisson Hotel, Hotel Quito and numerous hostels. There the qualified teachers were able to offer me one-to-one classes and a flexible schedule. The cost of the classes also includes a textbook with clear grammatical explanations, excercises to reinforce the new material, and a good progression of material. I have had a real sense of achievement and progress moving from the beginners' level to the intermediate level in so short a time. Guayasamin is friendly, flexible and affordable.
